Our week-take 2

I had to cut that last post short because little Miss woke up. She seems to know when I am eating or doing something 'fun' without her. So I have a couple minutes now (hopefully) while she plays.

So Monday we voted and Tuesday we went for a coffee with Sophia's friend Payton and her mom. We were suppose to go for a nice long walk around Beaumaris Lake with them but it was too cold and wet. Sophia is very quiet when we are out in public (she was raised well ;) but as soon as we hit the car she is talking, smiling, giggling and crying. All of that within 5 mins then hopefully she falls asleep for the drive.
Thursday was a very busy day for the Krause family. We did some chores and puttering during the day and 'tried' our best to nap...well Daddy did but mom and Soph just had fun quietly while he slept next to us. We tried our best not to wake him but leave it to Sophia to giggle loudly and wake him up ;)
Thursday evening we were very happy to rent out our condo in Stony Plain to a lovely couple. Lets hope it works out better than the last tenants.
Then we drove from Stony Plain to St. Albert to look at a camping trailer. We loved it and it looked like it was brand new so we bought it. The people were very nice who we bought it from. Remember Sophia is still a social pooper...yup you guessed it. We had been in  the trailer for no longer than 5 mins when we all heard the sound. I had been checking out the bathroom at the exact time loud noises came from her carrier. I felt the need to explain that she had just soiled herself and excused Soph and I while Jason finished the deal.
Now if you know me well you know that I hate awkward situations and will do anything to avoid them. I ended up changing Sophia in the truck hoping I didn't get the mess everywhere (and it was a record messy diaper, I swear). Jason came to the truck and said that they offered to have Soph and I in their house while the guys finished the deal outside. I said no because I didn't want the wife to feel like she had to entertain this perfect stranger in her home, which if she is anything like me, her home was probably not ready for company. I knew it was a kind gesture and one I'm sure she secretly hoped I didn't take her up on as they were in the middle of renovating. we drove the trailer out to my parents acreage to store until we sock it and head out this summer. we already have 3 trips planned. So exciting!!!

On Friday I dropped Sophia off at Grandma Yvonne's for an hour while I did those quick stops that had to get done but would take even longer hauling Sophia in and out of the truck. She doesn't nap well when I have running around to do like that and I hate doing that to her.  So she had a nice long nap at Grandmas.

Now, today daddy was at another seminar (we hate this time of year) so Sophia and I washed the windows and screens in the house. It literally took us all day as one of us had to be entertained all day. Some days she is so happy just playing on her mat but other days, like today, she just wants to be held. Don't get me wrong I love cuddling with my girl and don't ever want to take it for granted. She will be a teenager soon enough and won't want to be seen with me. If your wondering how I am able to write so much right now, well I actually had to pick her up back in the second paragraph she was tired and fussy so I put her down for a nap then come back to you.  :)

Enjoy the pictures from our week. And one bonus pic from her photo shoot.

Still loves her baths we call them her 'spa'

Trying to nap. I was kissing her and she turned her head. I like to think she was kissing me back and not trying to suck on my nose.
I couldn't tell if she was sleeping yet so I used my phone camera as a mirror. She spotted me and her eyes got wide.
Then it was GAME ON again. All while trying to be quiet so daddy could sleep....he finally gave up and left. :)
At the condo
'Singing' with mommy in the back of daddy's truck. I think she sounds better than me for sure. LOL

Helping Daddy to understand the trailers' owners manual.
I had to quietly giggle at the intense concentration on both of their faces.
Too tired to play.

Thanks for Reading. Chat with you again next weekend !!
Have a great week.

Voting day- Monday

Well I am posting this a couple days early because Sophia went to bed early tonight, I'm sure this means she will be up early too but she was really cranky and tired. Even with this wet, cold weather we have had a busy week. Monday was voting day and proved to be the nicest day outside so we walked to the polls and did our duty as Canadian citizens. Sophia and I walked and voted in the morning as I knew I would need a lot of time in the booth to make up my mind as to which of the lesser evils I should vote for. I asked Sophia for help but she just chewed on her hands...not much help there I'm afraid. Still, she liked the beautiful walk. Later that day when Daddy came home we took Sidney for a walk to the polls again so daddy could vote.

waiting to hand in our ballots

4 months old

Sophia was fighting a bit of a cold on Monday and Tuesday this week. She was coughing and sneezing a lot so we laid low for those days and didn't go out at all. She was playing strange this week to Iris, Grandma Yvonne and Daddy on Wednesday. She was better the next day with Jason and better the next time she saw Grandma.
Sophia is using her hands a lot more. She is grabbing toys, my necklace and hair. She grunts now when she seems to be concentrating. Sophia turned 4 months old on Saturday...hard to believe isn't it? Time just flies. She is getting more and more fun everyday. She has a bit of an attitude and is not afraid to let you know what she thinks. I can definitely appreciate that, then there is no guessing LOL

We spent time this week looking up lake lots and spent Saturday traveling up to Lac La Biche to look at one. We really want Sophia to be out in the country as much as possible and because we live in town the next best thing is to spend the summers camping. Jason and I both love camping and feel at home in the country as we both grew up out there. The lake lot in Lac La Biche was not our style at all. The lake was lovely but the lots were so close together that it would be just like living in town.

We own family land out by Stony Plain that is only used as farm land right now. We took Grandma Yvonne on Sunday (today) and checked out if we could section off a space for camping. We found the perfect spot and Sophia sealed the deal by smiling as soon as we took her out of the truck once we were there. She was smiling and looking around the whole time we were there. We loved that it was quiet and high up so the view was amazing. Who knows maybe one day we will build out there. Now we need to look for a trailer and do a bit of building out at the site to get it set up.

After visiting the future camping spot we came home and worked in the yard. We were able to get the grass raked and some cleaning done before Sophia woke up. She spent a lot of time outside this weekend and seems to love it. Jason even sat her down in the grass for the first time today. She will be helping in the garden before we know it.

Sophia and I got asked to speak to a Social Work class at my school. We will go in on May 8th to talk about adoption. We have been working on a powerpoint presentation to show the class. I am looking forward to being in front of a class again and we all know Sophia loves the attention.

I took a new basket picture on her 4 month birthday. I added the new one to the 'Basket Pics" post

Enjoy the pics from the week.

Cute handmade doll she got from Jason's aunt

Laying low on Monday

Finally figured out how to chew on the little toys I bought her.
Still prefers to chew on her hands.

Playing strange with cousin Iris. :(

Iris helping to get the garden ready. She was excited to show Sophia her pink rubber boots.

On the road trip, Sophia is trying to hold the soother in her mouth. Maybe afraid I will take it away :)

"Don't you dare take this thing away" LOL

Out at the farm with Grandma

She approves of our camping spot.

Great Week

Sophia is sitting up so well in her chair that it has freed me up to do some work in the kitchen. She likes to sit on the counter and not in her swing where she can't see what I am doing. On Friday and Saturday Sophia was sleeping a lot!!! She would only wake up to eat and play for a very short time. She must be going through another growth spurt.
We went to the doctor for a check up on Thursday and she charmed all of the people in the waiting room. She was starting to not like staying in her carrier as we waited for her doctor so I took her out. I have never had that many people stare and smile at us before. As I looked up from taking her out I noticed everyone in the waiting room was looking at her and smiling. A few commented on her beautiful she was. All I could do was smile and say Thank You as Sophia stared at everyone just like she did at Second Cup last week. She is now 11 lbs and 5 oz and is 25 inches long!! She is very tall.

Here are some pics from during the week. :)

Helping to clean out the fridge

Sidney loves being near Sophia.

Helping to make carrot zucchini bread.

Getting ready for special company on Sunday.
On the weekend we visited Nana and Papa for a short time as we had work to do on the condo we are renting out. Sophia had a nap while Nana held her then played with Daddy and Papa.

I love this picture. Very content.

Sunday was a great day. Wayne made the trek out to our house and brought Kendal, Christian, Auntie Krista, Auntie Katy and Mark. Sophia was tired and not quite the perfect hostess as she had been in the past. We think she was so tired and still going through this sleeping pattern from the last couple of days. The great thing was that everyone now knows how to soothe Sophia for when she is like this again. Kendal and Christian were awesome with Sophia. They are very comfortable and natural which is so great to see. Sophia would stare at Kendal, I think she recognizes her voice. Christian brought Sophia gifts back from his trip to Europe. She loves her little lamb, Her little red dress will be so cute in the summer and her train looks great on her crib. Thanks for the Papa's Girl shirt Kokum, we missed you!!
Here are some great pictures from this awesome day.

HAPPY EASTER

This was a great week preparing for Easter. Cousin Iris came over on Wednesday to bake Easter cookies. Sophia loves watching Iris, even smiling and giggling at her. Iris likes to hold "my baby Sophia" and was having fun feeding her this week.

On Friday we went to Grandma Yvonne's (Jason's mom) for Easter brunch and took cousin Iris for a visit too.

Leaning in for a kiss

Today (Sunday) we got together with the other side of the family for Dim Sum. So much fun and very busy with all the little cousins running around. Sophia is wearing a pretty pink sweater that was knitted especially for her by one of Jason's patients, who is 92 years old!!! It is such a beautiful sweater. Still a bit big for her but such a special gift that she just had to wear it for a special occasion.

Not sure what we think of the headband thingy

So tired from all of the excitement
Nana and Papa with almost all of their grand kids

 Random pics from the week.
Showing off her new shoes

Sophia is giggling a lot this week but mostly with Daddy. The rest of us maybe get a smile or a small giggle but that's it.
