Playing with Friends

Sophia loves being outside. From the moment she wakes up until bath time she carries her shoes and drags her coat around until its time to play outside. She will refuse to come in the house after a couple hours to get a drink and a snack. She will cry, then once in the house refuse to take her shoes and coat off. She will have her snack with them on because it ensures she will be allowed to go back outside. Sophia is so funny with this. I don't blame her, we have all had too much winter.
Oh and she got her first sliver this week. On her hand. She came over and whined showing me her hand. At first I didn't catch on as I thought she just wanted something. I tried to take it out myself but she moves so much and I had to use a needle to get it out. I waited until Jason came home an hour later and we got it out together. Sophia did really well but we could tell it was sore.

She likes to throw the ball for Sidney and play in the garden.

My favorite part is stirring and putting in the paper liners into the pan. Mommy says you can tell which ones I did but I don't know what shes talking about"

Playing with Friends
Sophia has made some great friends with our neighbor girls. She loves hanging out with the big kids. And of course loves it when Iris comes to play. 

Sophia will ride in the wagon for about 5 minutes then wants to walk. She insisted she could pull Iris on her own.

Sophia loves Jordyn. She will run past all the other kids to see Jordyn. Its so cute.

Hi Mama

first experience with a worm: She touched it but got a tiny bit of dirt on her finger and hated it.

Lady bug followed us into the house. Sophia watched it for a minute...

...but got upset when it was walking up my arm.

Sophia makes me smile everyday :)

16 months!!

Wow it hit us on Sunday that Sophia is now 16 months.
I have been asked numerous times if I am going to continue with the Basket Pics. I am, but I was only going to do it every year now.
Today I was reminiscing and looking at Sophias baby pictures after visiting a good friends newborn baby girl yesterday. Sophia has changed so much and its so great how she is growing up and learning new things everyday. I love that I did the basket pictures but only wish I had been consistent in the distance away or the numbers at the bottom for the months, which I only thought of later.

I thought for fun I would do a basket picture today. Sophia knew the routine and was very patient and cooperative.

Busy Busy Busy

Hi All
Hope you all had a good week. Sophia is such a busy little girl. She is not destructive like some kids but she never stops. I get comments from people while we are out, how active she is. She is also very fast and loves to walk. She hates being in the stroller for longer than 10 mins. So needless to say when I go into a store and know exactly what I need and where it is. Get in and out as fast as possible or at least get as much done as fast as I can before I have to let her walk. She loves older people like grandmas and especially grandpas and they love her. She always smiles at them and they can't help but smile back.

Monday we went to the library. Sophia plays more with the toys instead of the books. I pick out books for her to read when we get home.

 Ok just for the record I really didn't want to unwrap an original Cabbage Patch Kid but Grandma couldn't help herself and let Sophia play with it.

BEST BUDS

"When Iris comes over we like to take all of my stuffed animals for a walk to the couch. Then we leave them all over the living room until mommy can't stand it anymore and cleans them up. Its a fun game we have with mommy. She likes it."

 I have been craving yard work and hating the weather. So we went outside and tried to get rid of the snow by shoveling it onto the grass. I never thought I would be 'that person' who does this but this winter has been way too long.

Ok Funny Story...

 After swim class on Wednesday I was getting dressed and I turned around and this is what I saw....

 The funny thing is, this wasn't even our locker.

 Upstairs from the pool is this great play area that is free!!! We like free play areas. This was Sophias first time here, actually second but she was small when we were here for Iris's birthday party and didn't play.

 On Saturday we let Jason nap after work while Sophia and I made crackers. She loves to snack but I hate the crap that is in packaged foods. So on Pinterest I found this recipe for crackers like the goldfish crackers...only these were way better.
Sophia (and I) LOVED them. So good and easy. We just used a small animal cookie cutter and then a ravioli cutter to speed things up a bit.

Some Sunday mornings Jason takes us to A&W for breakfast. Its nice and quiet becasue its us and a bunch of seniors which Sophia loves. She visits everyone and gives out lots of smiles.
Today Sophia woke up at 5:45 (not sure why) so we went for breakfast at 8:00 then to Greenland greenhouse to pick up a few things.

She likes to visit the greenhouse cats. This is the closest she has been to a cat in a while so we weren't sure exactly what she would do. She almost stepped on their tails a few times.

Lets hope the weather gets better this week. Sophia walks around the house with her coat and shoes because she wants to go out. The wind has been bad the last couple of days and seems to take her breath away when it hits her but she still wants to go out. :) This summer will be fun and busy with her outside 'helping' in the yard.
