First Camping Trip

We had a busy week after Mother's Day. Sophia and I had a lot to do to get ready for camping on the long weekend but we still made time to play.

"Mommy and I made this shirt"

"Sydney likes it when I throw the ball for him"

"I love the swings"

"and I like the slide"

"I also like bird watching with Iris"

"This is my first time playing in the sand. I'm not sure about it but Iris seems to really like it"

"I like to follow Iris everywhere and do everything she does"

"We have picnics at the park"

"On the way home we had to help mommy push the wagon. mommy said we had to push because we still had too much energy"

"Iris and I got the giggles so we weren't much help"
We are so blessed to have great friends who just give us things their kids have grown out of. Our neighbor Doreen is one of these awesome people. She refused to take money for these great toys which Sophia loves. So our back yard now has a pirate ship and a house. We have a harder time now bringing Sophia in for meals and bed time.

This year we rented a lot for our trailer out by Stettler by the Red Deer River. Its lovely and quiet. Its a small place compared to others we had looked at and its only 1.5 hours away. Sophia likes it there, probably because she is the youngest there and gets a lot of attention from the other people.
We went out for the long weekend to paint the existing deck and to get the trailer settled. We will be back out there every possible weekend through out the summer.

I'm sure you have all been wondering what happened to Jeffery right? ;) Well he is still Sophia's favorite and will always come on our vacations with us.

"I would have made that shot but the bird was singing and it was throwing off my concentration "

Sophia took these two pictures of our feet all by herself. ")

We had an awesome long weekend and we hope you did too. :)

Mother's Day

Well we had a lovely Mothers Day Weekend. On Saturday we went to visit my mom and deliver her homemade gifts. My Mom, Sophia and I went out to put flowers on my grandma's grave. This was very meaningful to me as I hadn't been there in a while and have never taken Sophia there. I remember growing up and visiting my grandpa's (mom's dad's) grave and how much it meant to my mom. I understand now why I meant so much to her. I wish that both my grandma's could have met Sophia. They would have loved her very much. :')
Sophia was amazing out at the grave. She didn't touch other peoples flowers or graves which I was surprised at. Its almost like she knew she had to be respectful. She touched my grandparents names and the rose and bees on the stone. She also helped to put flowers in the vases. It was a great way to start Mother's Day weekend.

Last year Jason and Sophia took me to the greenhouse to get the flowers for our pots and we spent the day outside in the garden.
Last Mothers Day...wow she has changed
I loved that so much that we decided to make it a tradition.

"I'm helping to plant tomatoes"

"Sometimes they get stuck together so I pull them apart as hard as I can even though mom tells me to be gentle with the plants"

"MOM stop taking pictures and help me plant"

Planting peas

"mom shows me where to put the seed but I like my method of throwing the seeds randomly. I think they will grow better that way."

The garden is planted and flowers are in. This was a great Mother's Day.
Thank You Sophia and Jason (and Sydney, my furry baby) xo

Good Times

HAPPY BIRTH MOTHERS DAY KENDAL. WE LOVE YOU :)

I will post a longer write up tomorrow but today I just wanted to show some of the pics we have taken in the last two weeks.
Sophia continues to learn new words and she catches on to things very quickly. She studies what we do then she copies us. Its amazing to see how fast she is changing. We think she is the smartest little girl EVER but we know we are very biased :)

At the library working on the computer. BEST SMILE EVER!!!

Craft time with Iris

I had a package delivered to the house and it was filled with a lot of this brown paper in one long sheet. Its perfect for crafts. The girls had fun coloring and decorating their 'paper dolls' with stickers.

We visited Grandma Grace (who just celebrated her 90th birthday. The party is in a couple weeks)

"good thing Daddy takes me to Costco with him. He needs help to push the cart"

Breakfast on the deck.

Daddy's helper

bedtime story...

...and snuggles

Sophia like to help organize things even when they don't really need to be organized. I was doing my hair and she was being patient waiting for me. She saw the need to take all of the band aides out of the box and just have them loose in the drawer.
See, its much better ;)

Daddy teaching her to ride a bike.

I bought Sophia a potty because she has been showing a lot of interest in sitting on the real one....but as you can see this has become a toy. I have found so many things in the potty but not exactly what the potty was designed for.

More pics to come this weekend. :)
