Lots of Love

Wow I'm posting two weeks in a row, I'm doing well :)
This week we had a lot of Valentines to make. So we started early to hopefully get them out on time to everyone. Sophia got a little car and track, hair clips and a new little teddy bear. She loves any little toy she can hold on to and crawl. She has taken more steps this past week and more today at music class and Nana and Papa's house. She is slowly realizing that she can carry all of her 'treasures' and walk more easily than crawl.

This week Sophia and I went to the library for the first time. She seemed to like it and of course watched other kids the whole time. This picture is cute and looks like she is picking out a book but she is actually watching a little girl on the other side of the stacks.

Sophia like to help around the house. On Friday we go through the flyers together and clip coupons before going shopping.

We have been trying out new hair styles. This is by far my favorite one but it doesn't keep the hair out of her eyes so I don't do it.

Sophia likes popsicle but hates anything really sweet which is good so she has the yogurt ones with very little sugar. She eats the whole thing herself.

I was baking in the kitchen and she wanted to be involved. So to keep her safe and away from the oven I put her in a box, that Jason gave to her to play with, with a popsicle. She was so happy.

Got a visit from Uncle Charles, Auntie Nicole and Cousin Abbie.  Sophia loves her Uncle Charles.

At Millenium Place. She usually won't go in the tunnels or even climb up on the equipment but she is getting braver. She loves slides.

I'm sure people think I pose her in these cute positions with Sidney but she does them all on her own. The top one I just took while working on her blog just now. He just sleeps while she snuggles with him. Sophia has never pulled his fur like some kids do. She is very gentle with him and he loves the attention.

This week Iris was into makeovers and brought the make up kit that Jason got her for Christmas. She insisted on doing my make up and wanted to put make up on Sophia. I said no but she settled for combing her hair. Sophia doesn't mind if Iris does her hair but hates it when I do it . :)

Sophia loves tools and in this picture she is changing the batteries in her car. She was doing this for quite a while.

Jason sent me this one when he was home with her on Thursday. We always stack things and in this pic she stacked these all by herself...impressive.

...Well I should go, This is what's happening in the office right now while I try to write her blog.
She is 'helping' to clean out the desk and saying 'baby' the whole time. Super cute...now to clean it all up. She won't be happy :)

Have a great week everyone. xo

Hello Again

Well it has been a while since I have posted pictures for you. I am sorry for that. There is no reason for it just, wow time flies.
We had a great Christmas and Birthday season. Sophia's birthday was a fun day and so nice to see everyone.

On Sophias actual birthday we just spent it as a family. We went for lunch where she had her first taste of gelato and then to Toys R Us to buy her a toy.

I just did basket pics every month for her first year but on her 13th month birthday she dragged out the basket and pushed it around the house. I didn't make the connection until the next day that maybe she missed the process of having her basket picture taken...or she was just pushing the basket around, but I like my first thought better :)

Christmas was a lot more fun with Sophia able to open and play with her gifts. She didn't touch the gifts or the tree at all which surprised us. Christmas Eve we opened her books with her...then she caught on to the gift opening process and crawled under the tree grabbing any gift she could get her hands on. So by Christmas morning she knew how it all worked. She liked to help us open our gifts too and seemed more interested in my gifts than what she got.

oooooo look what mommy got.

Dressed up for Christmas Dinner

January 1st was Payton's first birthday which was a New Years theme. Sophia loved celebrating with her.
Payton and her dad Trevor
Now that the holidays are all over we could get back to regular routines.
Sophia is now saying a few things. Grandma taught her to say 'uh oh' which she says before dropping her toy off the couch. She also says it when the washer or dryer is done. She loves helping with laundry so after she says 'uh oh' she crawls over and waits for one of us to come and let her push the buttons. She has said mama and dada for a while but doesn't really say it to us specifically. Usually when she wants to play its 'dada' but when she needs something its 'mama'.  She is also saying 'b' words like 'baby'.
Iris comes over on Tuesdays and spends the whole day with us. It is so great for Sophia and for Iris. They act like sisters. They play together but also fight over toys.

Sophia eats foods she doesn't normally eat just because she sees Iris eating them. Its good.

Sydney waiting for her to throw his ball

making cookies....so messy but so fun. Notice Sophia's sock came off and she is covered in flour. She loves cooking and baking because she can help to stir or measure. As you can see they were the best cookies we ever made because they were made with love...and I'm sure a few extra things added too. ;)

 Some activities Sophia likes are:

Playing at Millenium Place.
The last time we were there, we were having a snack before playing again. A little boy (probably 18 months old) walked by with his dad. The little boy stopped and smiled at me. I said hi then he turned to look at Sophia. He just stared at her and smiled. His dad called him to come so the little boy slowly walked away but didn't take his eyes off Sophia. I thought he was such a cutie and obviously taken with Sophia.
When we went to play, it was much busier with children,  I was walking with Sophia holding her one hand. I looked up to see the same little boy come right up to Sophia and give her a big hug. He kept hugging her and eventually knocked her over. She didn't cry like I expected but I think she was shocked. He let go of her and walked away. All the moms who were sitting close by laughed and said "oh that little guy is going to be trouble with the ladies when he is older". It was cute.

Cuddling with Sydney. She will go right up to him and lay on him or pet him. She is very gentle with him not grabbing and pulling his fur like I usually see kids do. He is very patient and good with her too. When I let him outside she will sit by the back door and look out the window until he comes back.

This look is cute but scares me :)

Play date with Payton
The girls took turns pushing each other around. They would bump into walls and things then the would both laugh. It was so entertaining for us to watch them play.

I promise to keep up with this blog better now. See you again soon.
