The End of Summer Holidays

Well summer has been very busy for us but it was a lot of fun too. These are the rest of our summer pictures before we left on our last camping trip of the season. :(

I don't know if I added this one before but its worth sharing again ;) ...love the shirt
learning to crawl on the grass. Its great that she doesn't mind the feel of the grass.

Sophia woke up one morning with a puffy eye. We weren't sure what happened as she didn't cry during the night but I still took her musical fish thingy out of her crib. She is moving around a lot so I thought maybe she hit her eye on it....its the only explanation I could come up with in the morning before coffee haha. I took a picture of it just in case I needed it, good thing I did.

Later I checked her room for spiders or bugs but found nothing and considered the food I had been feeding her for possible food allergies. It didn't look too bad so we thought it would go away. However when she woke up from her afternoon nap at 4:00 it was way worse. She wasn't showing any other symptoms or signs that it was bothering her in any way. She was actually in very good spirits. But a part of me was panicking a bit. Jason came home from work and we took her into the care center here in the Park. They confirmed it was a bug bite and they see it all the time. They were very good there and suggested allergy meds for her. We decided to see what would happen the next morning as it didn't seem to bother her and she wasn't scratching at it. In the morning her eye was back to normal. Thanks goodness. I called her my "little scraper", she fought her first bug.

The mini sunflowers Sophia and Iris planted in the spring.

We just came back from camping in the Hinton/Jasper area. We had a lot of fun with our friends Christy, Trevor and Sophia's friend Payton. They camped with us for a few days in their new trailer. We are already planning our camping trips with them and Nana and Papa for next summer.
Daddy likes to leave early for road trips. He woke us up art 5:30 but we are still smiling and happy to go camping again.

Sleeping 10 mins into the trip

Our camping site at KOA in Hinton.
Very cool to walk this in Hinton. Its the longest fresh water board walk in Canada (or so we were told). It was very cool and totally built by volunteers.
We were trying to get Sophia to sleep but she refused. Too much to see I guess.

" my fans will never recognize me like this"

Driving into Jasper for the day. She slept and missed seeing wild life on the road and the beautiful view.
We went into Jasper twice that's why there is a weather and outfit difference in the pictures.
She stared at the horse so the man asked if she wanted to pet him. So cute.

Daddy was responsible for her on this trip into Jasper. Her face was dirty, hat was falling off or over her face most of the time and he tried to feed her on the go but they kept looking around so her bottle was not in her mouth but leaking over her clothes and face. The funny thing is, is they were both so happy. Its like her expectations of basic needs go down when daddy is in charge and she is so easy going and has fun. When I am responsible for her, she yells at me cause she knows I know exactly what she needs and when. She knows I have no excuse to not feed her on time. She was higher expectations of me. Its very funny.

This morning she refused to get dressed. She was too busy playing and she screamed and rolled over every time I tried. So I admitted defeat this time and she stayed in a diaper all morning and loved it.

We got smart and brought the jolly jumper for the girls.

Payton using Sophia's jumper and Sophia playing with Payton's bus. They share so well.
Bye-Bye Jasper!!!
Happy Traveler

Learning to crawl is difficult work. Sophia has mastered going in reverse, now to learn how to move forward. :)

on Sunday Daddy took Sophia to visit the Klassen family and to run errands while Mommy prepared for work.

So tired after a day with Daddy. Too tired to take off her coat and shoes

She turned 8 months while we were in Jasper so this was taken the week after. More hair then last month for sure and as always Sidney just has to be apart of it all.
