Well after getting a lot of grief for not posting last week, I thought I better get on it for this week.
On May 27th Sophia ate brown rice cereal for the first time and loved it. Since then she has tried apple sauce (loved it), banana (hated it) and avocado (loved it). We have been watching for allergic reactions but haven't noticed any. These foods are all very low allergy foods and are recommended to be the first things to try babies on because of it. Her eczema gets better one day then worse the next. So her doctor is sending us to an allergist to see what it could be.
On May 29th Sophia rolled from her front to her back yay!!! She really didn't seems to care about it but I freaked out of course :)
May 30 we visited Great Grandma Grace and cousins.
June 1st Grandma Yvonne and I took Sophia to her first garage sale.We bought her some great clothes and toys. Also on this day she rolled from her back to her front. Now she rolls all over her crib and is never in the same position we leave her in.
June 3rd we had a BBQ at Nana and Papas acreage with all of the cousins and aunts and uncles. Beautiful Day. The funniest thing about this day was when Sophia and Marek were on the floor and Sophia grabbed Mareks hand...cute yes...but then she pulled on his arm to help her roll over. She had both her legs heaved over him and pulled his arm for leverage. So cute but very funny.
On Monday we went for a nice walk with cousin Marek and Auntie Shannon. We have to get these walks in while the sun is shining. Everyday we hope its not raining at lease in the morning so we can walk. Sophia loves walking (most of the time) and the fresh air helps her to sleep really well.
On Tuesday we gave her bananas for the first time...it was like I gave her a lemon. She made many horrible faces and spit it out. We tried it again the next day and she wasn't pleased. We will try again next month to see if her opinion has changed.
Wednesday she had a doctor appointment. She is now 13.9 lbs and 27 inches tall. This is a big deal because when she reaches 29 inches we have to move her to a car seat. So maybe in a couple months we will have to get rid of the bucket seat :(
Friday we visited Auntie Cheryl (who we haven't seen since January) wow time goes so fast.
Sunday (today) we went out to Nana and Papas to visit Auntie Dawn (who we haven't seen since Christmas).
Things I have noticed lately about Sophia- If we go to visit people or people come over, she likes to just be held by one of us and watch people for a few minutes until she is comfortable. Then she is fine being passed around (for the most part). She is loved so much that everyone just wants to grab her right away and she hates that. She can be very difficult to calm down if she is forced to sit with them at this point. So we have been trying letting her observe first for a few minutes and it has worked much better. if there is a large crowd or it is noisy it takes longer for her to get comfortable. I have tried to just let her cry with people but it never gets better only worse. Every baby is different and I have seen some who settle right away when you give them a toy but not Sophia. I love it when people accept this and give her space for a few minutes so she can get her surroundings figured out. She tends to give out lots of smiles and giggles after that. I guess its like when kids are shy and hide behind their moms for the first few minutes then you cant keep them quiet after they are comfortable.
This week we are shopping for a gift for cousin Robbie's birthday party on Saturday and for Fathers Day on Sunday. Have a great week everyone.
Enjoy the pics from the last two weeks.
